Lake Guntersville 05-19

Well they say good things must come to an end. This statement holds true in fishing also and it was proven today. Now don't get me wrong we had a great time and to standards a good day but the fishing that has been nothing short of awesome the last two weeks has slowed. With the high winds, water getting muddy, and cold front followed by a nasty high presure the fishing suffered some. This morning the bite was better on the ledges with winds down some. After they got up we moved to a couple of other places and had solid keeper fish but nothing over 5lbs.. After that I dropped them off at Waterfront and ran the boat some to put some time on the new motor.
On the PM trip I was part of the group that worked a corp. outing. I had two super nice people that had never fished before in freshwater. After some casting lessons we got started but the winds made it tough to get the baits out far enough for them to get bit. I then ran to a protected cove where we boated a couple of fish but nothing to really get excited about. We only had about 3 hours total to fish and they seemed to have a good time seeing some of what Alabama is all about.
All in all a good day on the water with some great people on both trips. Best baits still seem to be the Lake Fork Live Magic Shad, Jackall Muscle 10 and 7 and both War Eagle and Rattle Head spinnerbaits. Today the Jackall crankbaits boated the better numbers. I have one more trip Wed then the rest of the week open due to a canceled trip. I also have a couple of days left the rest of the month as well as June if anyone is interested in a trip. Hope everyone is having a great week and looking forward to a wonderful Holiday weekend. See you on the water.

Oh, one other thing, I have had a great response to the Sonar/GPS class coming up on June 11th in the last few days. The seating is going to be limited so if anyone is interested give me a call or e-mail and we will get your seat reserved. Thanks again for everyone's support and thoughts.

God Bless
