Rain on Guntersville Doesn't Slowdown the Fishing

Today I got to fish with a great guy looking to learn more about the lake, tactics, and also learn about some of the Jackall products. He has just opened at new tackle store on Lake Guntersville right off Highway 69 by Browns Creek called Lakes Edge Tackle. We hit the water this morning at daybreak fishing ledges looking for some "shad spawn" fish. We had one or two but nothing like we were looking for. We then made a move to hit some openwater humps and teach my client some tactics on cranking grass. I first let him use his crankbait to let him compare his to the Jackall Mucsle 10+. After a bit without a bite I tied on the Mucsle and right away he saw why I like them so much. He had several fish on the bait and the numbers got better as the day went on. We fished pockets as well as main lake humps with grass from 3 feet to 15 feet. Although we did not have any big fish we had several solid keepers and the numbers were good. I did have a 16 inch Crappie on a crankbait as well. Have to say one of the biggest I have had all year.

I also had some good numbers on the Jackall Wacky Jig Head and Flick Shake worm. It was one of the best days weather wise on the lake today with light winds. Only thing was we ran from rain most of the trip but he left excited about the new tactics and baits as well learning some areas he had never seen in the years he has fished the lake. Be sure to drop by Lakes Edge Tackle Off Hwy 69 and say hello. He is just getting things in and will soon have alot of baits and other boating items in stock. Hope everyone has a great week and looking forward to the topwater bite to start up strong soon.

God Bless
